Nets' Dooling has successful hip surgery

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) -- New Jersey Nets guard Keyon Dooling had successful arthroscopic hip surgery to remove loose particles from his right hip.

The surgery was performed on Monday by Drs. Bryan Kelly and Riley Williams at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City. Dooling will begin rehabilitation in several days, and is expected to be ready for the beginning of the 2009-10 season.

The ninth-year guard played in 77 games in his first season with New Jersey in 2008-09, averaging career-highs of 9.7 points, 2.0 rebounds and 3.5 assists.
