The Cleveland Cavaliers' LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers' Andrew Bynum today were named the Eastern and Western Conference Players of the Week, respectively, for games played Monday, Jan. 19, through Sunday, Jan. 25.

James guided the Cavaliers to wins in three of their four games last week during a West Coast trip. James averaged 30.5 points, 9.8 rebounds, 8.8 assists and 2.3 steals, and was among the top 10 in each of those categories among all Eastern Conference players. With a 33-point, 14-rebound effort on Jan. 24 during a win at Utah, James recorded his twelfth double-double of the season.

During a 4-0 week for the Lakers, Bynum averaged 23.5 points, 11.5 rebounds and 2.25 blocks. On Jan. 21 during a 108-97 win over the Clippers, Bynum posted season highs in points (42) and rebounds (15). The young center posted point-rebound double-doubles in three of four games. At 35-8 (.814), the Lakers own the NBA's best record.

LeBron James, Cleveland Cavaliers

Jan. 19 @ L.A. Lakers: Tallied 23 points, nine rebounds and four steals during a 105-88 loss to the Lakers.

Jan. 21 @ Portland: Posted 34 points, 14 assists and seven rebounds in a 104-98 win over the Trail Blazers.

Jan. 23 @ Golden State: Recorded 32 points, nine rebounds and eight assists in the Cavaliers' 106-105 win over the Warriors.

Jan. 24 @ Utah: Poured in 33 points and added 14 rebounds and nine assists as Cleveland knocked off the Jazz 102-97.

Andrew Bynum, L.A. Lakers

Jan. 19 vs. Cleveland: Recorded 14 points and six rebounds in a 105-88 win over the Cavaliers.

Jan. 21 @ L.A. Clippers: Posted season-highs in points (42) and rebounds (15) in the Lakers' 108-97 win over the Clippers.

Jan. 22 vs. Washington: Scored 23 points and added 14 rebounds in a 117-97 victory over the Wizards.

Jan. 25 vs. San Antonio: Posted his third-consecutive double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds, and tied a season high with four blocks during a 99-85 win over the Spurs.

Other nominees for the Eastern and Western Conference Players of the Week were Boston's Ray Allen, Charlotte's Raja Bell and Boris Diaw, Cleveland's Mo Williams, Houston's Luis Scola, Indiana's Danny Granger, Minnesota's Al Jefferson, New York's David Lee, Oklahoma City's Kevin Durant and Portland's Greg Oden.
