Posted Oct 31 2008 9:04AM

Today the NBA took a bit of time to look into the future and unveiled plans for the 2010 NBA All-Game to be held in the the Dallas Cowboys' new $1 billion stadium in Arlington, Texas.

"The NBA All-Star Weekend has become the biggest party weekend in the country," Cuban told NBA.com. "I think it will be a unique chance for Dallas and Fort Worth and the cities in between to show off, and to let everyone see how Texas does it right."

The All-Star announcement was about the only exciting event in Dallas on Thursday as the Mavericks fell to the Rockets, raising doubts about the team's future, Art Garcia writes.

Stat of the Night

After Thursday's loss to the Hornets, the Suns have an 0-5 record against New Orleans trailing back to last season.

Eyeing the Future

The Pistons and Jason Maxiell agreed on a $20 million, four-year contract extension, a basketball official told The Associated Press on Thursday. The 6-foot-7, 260-pound forward is one of the Pistons' top reserves and likely will have a larger role in the years to come. ... The Lakers signed center Andrew Bynum to a contract extension, removing the possibility the 21-year-old center would become an unrestricted free agent next summer. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Speaking

"If we can get people to sit on each other's laps, it could be 200,000."
-- Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban after it was announced the 2010 NBA All-Star game will be held at the new Dallas Cowboys stadium with seating for roughly 100,000.
