OKLAHOMA CITY -- Kevin Durant missed the Oklahoma City Thunder's game against the Orlando Magic on Wednesday night because of a sore left ankle.

Coach P.J. Carlesimo said Durant will be day-to-day and his status for Friday's game at New York is up in the air. Desmond Mason started in his place against Orlando.
"We're looking at a back-to-back, so you don't know," Carlesimo said, referring to games Friday and Saturday. "The good news is he didn't go (Tuesday at practice). He dressed, he did like three minutes. He was there, he did a drill and then they were lifting. He really didn't tax the ankle. He didn't tax it at all today. Tomorrow's a travel day, so he'll have had three days off. So, we'll see.
"It'll be interesting to see what he feels like in the Garden Friday morning at the shootaround and then more importantly what he feels like Friday night."
Durant, the NBA's rookie of the year, scored 37 points in Oklahoma City's loss at Indiana on Monday. The Thunder are off Thursday before the back-to-back games against the Knicks and Philadelphia.
Durant has had struggles with the ankle dating to his college days at Texas.
"He's got a little bit of a history. It's always been a bounce back a day or two later. If he misses a practices or if he gets hurt, he usually bounces back pretty quickly," Carlesimo said.
"I've got no indication from ... the doctors that this is something we should really be worried about."
The Thunder were without forward Chris Wilcox for the second straight game because of an injured right knee and Carlesimo said he would also remain day-to-day for the weekend.
"My hunch would be no, but it's only a hunch," Carlesimo said.
