Nets' Harris (ankle) out vs. Heat; Marion sits

Posted Nov 10 2008 8:16PM

MIAMI (AP) -- New Jersey guard Devin Harris and Miami forward Shawn Marion both were held out of Monday's Nets-Heat game with injuries.

Harris has battled a sprained left ankle for several days. Marion aggravated his right groin Saturday in Miami's loss to New Orleans.

Harris hasn't played since scoring a career-best 38 points against the Detroit Pistons on Friday. He sat out the Nets' 98-80 loss at Indiana on Saturday, and coach Lawrence Frank said there's "a pretty good chance" Harris will miss a home game with the Pacers on Wednesday as well.

"If he's able to get back Wednesday, then he'll go," Frank said. "He's officially listed as day to day, but that's the assessment of where it stands right now."

Frank indicated the likely return for Harris will be at home against Atlanta on Friday. Keyon Dooling will be the starting point guard until Harris returns.

Marion got hurt in the first quarter against New Orleans while changing directions, but was able to play through the pain. He got treatment Sunday and again before the game Monday, but because he was still experiencing soreness, the team decided it was best to hold him out.

"It hurts still, but hopefully another day of treatment, another two days of treatment and I'll be good to go hopefully for Wednesday," Marion said.

The Heat are off Tuesday and host Portland on Wednesday.
