Bobcats waive struggling forward Davidson

Posted Oct 27 2008 8:43PM

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) -- The Bobcats have waived forward Jermareo Davidson, leaving Charlotte one shy of the regular-season limit of 15 players.

Davidson was slow in learning coach Larry Brown's system and appeared in only three of eight exhibition games. He fell behind journeyman Andre Brown in Larry Brown's rotation.

Davidson was taken by Golden State in the second round in 2007, and was acquired in a draft-night trade that sent Jason Richardson to Charlotte. The Bobcats picked up the second-year option on Davidson's deal before this year's draft.

The move on Monday gives the Bobcats room to add another forward to spell Sean May, who has struggled with his conditioning since returning from right knee surgery.
