WASHINGTON -- The Washington Wizards waived forwards DerMarr Johnson and Linton Johnson on Tuesday to cut their roster to the maximum 15 players.


DerMarr Johnson averaged 8.8 points and 19.6 minutes in five exhibition games. Linton Johnson averaged 1.3 points and 12.8 minutes in four games. Both were signed Sept. 22.
The Wizards (1-4) close the preseason with games Wednesday at the San Antonio Spurs, then Friday at the Cleveland Cavaliers. Washington opens the regular season Oct. 29 at home against the New Jersey Nets.
