DALLAS -- Washington Wizards center Brendan Haywood will have his sprained right wrist examined by a specialist in New York City on Wednesday.

Haywood was injured last week at training camp and was ruled out of Tuesday night's preseason opener against the Dallas Mavericks.
Haywood averaged 10.6 points and 7.2 rebounds in 80 games for the Wizards last season.
The Wizards are also without guard Gilbert Arenas, who's expected to miss several months with a left knee injury. Arenas, who averaged 28.4 points in 2006-07, missed 69 games last season following knee surgery.
