WASHINGTON, April 5 (AP) -- Miami forward Alexander Johnson was released from a Friday night and cleared to fly home with the Heat after he was struck in the temple late in a loss to the Washington Wizards.

With about 9 minutes to play, Johnson was hit in a collision with teammate Mark Blount. Johnson fell to the floor and was taken to the locker room where he was conscious but unresponsive. He was taken to George Washington University Hospital for a CT scan and examined by Wizards team physician Dr. Marc Connell.

"He got hit in the temple and he's just not responding at all,'' Miami coach Pat Riley said before Johnson was released from the hospital. "We're not sure what it is. He's breathing, he's just not responding to who he is, where he's at.''

The 25-year-old Johnson, in his second season in NBA, had nine points in 15 minutes. He's averaging 4.2 points in 42 games this season.with the Heat, who have already lost Dwyane Wade, Alonzo Mourning, Udonis Haslem, Shawn Marion and Dorell Wright to season-ending injuries.
